Aloha Lover Girl
I love stumbling across a new blog and letting myself get lost in beautiful images, inspiring words, transporting me into a new world and opening my eyes to something new. That's exactly how I felt when I found myself on the Spell & the Gypsy Collective blog. Those who have known me for awhile will know that I've always dreamt of spending time in Australia, my only worry being that once I visit I'll find it hard to come back. I feel most at home when I'm near water, and the beach is most definitely my happy place, drawing me in with the laid back lifestyle and stunning scenery. Not to mention bare feet in the sand, maxi dresses, and flowers in my hair.
We've built up quite the list of Australian brands that we carry at Bicyclette - Finders Keepers, Keepsake, Cameo, Ladakh, Maurie & Eve - and the bold bohemian style fits well with the aesthetic of the shop and our street style meets fairy tale mentality. We instantly fell in love with Spell & the Gypsy Collective and the whole vibe of their collection and blog, not to mention what looks like an amazing team of beautiful, inspiring women.
"The sisters started Spell (named after Isabella’s childhood nickname) five years ago when Isabella started making jewellery in her walk-in wardrobe and selling it at the local markets. Since then, their imaginations have been running wild ... Inspired by far off places, vintage treasures and childhood memories, the sisters work in their Byron Bay design studio, channeling their inner gypsy spirits, creating all manner of adornments and sharing their inspiration with their friends around the globe through their blog – and so the cycle of inspiration continues…"
One shoot that caught my eye as I was exploring the blog was the Gypsy Stone Aloha Lover Girl lookbook that they worked on with the new Summer 13/14 collection, describing it as "fashion-lover meets boho-babe meets van-wanderer vibe". Sounds just about perfect to us!
