Disco Diamond New Year's Eve

New Year's has always been an interesting holiday for me. Though I usually tend to opt for a bottle of wine, cozy sweater and a night in over a big night out, it's always been one of my favourite occasions to style for, and every year with the boutique, I looked forward to party dresses and an over abundance of sparkle as we planned the holiday shoot. It's an opportunity to go a little over the top and add an extra dose of glamour, and who doesn't love that?

Angela from Bash Party Goods and I connected back in the fall, and as a longtime admirer of her fun party supplies, when she told me that her holiday collection was inspired by figure skaters and titled Disco Diamond, I immediately started envisioning all the details and dreaming up ideas of how this iridescent magic could come to life as a New Year's Eve shoot. The collection is full of icy blues and silvers with sparkly details and graphic elements, providing the perfect inspiration for the styling.

There's something about a smaller shoot that gives you free reign to be creative, and with Emily and Ana as my models (you'll probably recognize them from the boutique days, or the many other Bicyclette shoots they've been a part of), we really had the opportunity to play, both with the styling and the shots themselves.
