Flower Crowns and Cotton Candy Skies

bahamaspier4 There is something so magical about a sunset over the ocean, feeling that warm glow on your skin and watching the sky dance with cotton candy colours. On our third night of vacation, we all put on our evening best and headed to Compass Point, which claims to have one of the best sunset views on the island, and where the strawberry mojitos are available by the bucketful.

The tiny resort is inspired by Bahamian culture, with everything painted vibrant Junkanoo colours with nods to founder Chris Blackwell's music industry roots, and it has the feel of a destination that caters more to locals and those looking for an authentic island experience.

Two buckets of strawberry mojitos later (there were eight of us, so don't be too quick to judge!), we headed down to the pier to watch the sun set, and we were definitely not disappointed by the view. There's no denying it, this is my happy place.
