Love Notes // Vol. 21
// I've ended up on the Cocorrina site a few times now, and from the simple site design to the beautiful design work, I always find myself getting lost in it. Corina is a graphic designer, letterer and art director, and I'm so smitten with her style, and the simple writing that often accompanies her posts - this one is from her series The Freelance Life. With my favourite colour palette and that deconstructed edge I love so much, this piece is one that I would totally hang on my studio wall as a simple reminder.
// One of my favourite parts of fall is the reintroduction of cozy sweaters, hands down, and bonus points go to those with slouchy silhouettes and that perfect off-the-shoulder drape. Pair it with a classic and feminine ponytail, and you've got yourself a look that's chic enough for a work day, a casual evening out, or a night curled up on the couch with a new book and cup of tea (or wine - I don't discriminate!)
// When it comes to cooking (and though I always have the best intentions), I tend to go through phases, largely based on how busy I am. We've actually become quite dependent on recently, but I'm always on the lookout for easy, healthy and delicious options that I can whip together fairly easily at the end of a long day. These Mushroom and Quinoa Burgers definitely fit the bill, and they've got an artful beauty to them as well that I'm definitely not opposed to.
// I think we all have a few weaknesses when it comes to Pinterest, and for me, behind-the-scenes fashion week photos are a top contender. This capture, from the Elie Saab couture show has me swooning with those sheer fabrics, delicate embellishment and bursts of soft feathers.
// I'll be the first to admit that I may have a slight obsession when it comes to pleated midi skirts, and recently I've started to notice a number of metallic-toned styles catching my eye. A party-perfect option that pairs well with your favourite worn-in tee or lightweight knit and booties, this is one style that I can see transitioning into fall with. And if you haven't familiarized yourself with French label Maje yet, consider yourself warned - there are way too many wishlist-worthy pieces.
// Another trend I can't get enough of right now is velvet, which has always been one of my favourite fall and winter fabrics. Soft and luxurious, I'll take it anyway I can - footwear, clothing (I'm currently craving a delicate velvet slip dress, if anyone has any leads...), or decor. Especially chic in rich velvet tones, I've been especially drawn to the texture in dusty blush tones, as seen here on these strappy sandals, which are sadly sold out.
