Take Me Out // Her Majesty's Pleasure

These days it seems like so many new wonderful things are happening in the city that even I can't keep track anymore. My list of shops and bakeries to explore grows longer with each passing day, and at this point it takes something really special to catch my attention.

But macarons and manicures in the same place? Yup, that'll do it.

Her Majesty's Pleasure is a genius new spot located in King West's busiest strip. Not only do they offer phenomenal baked goods, tea, coffee, and cocktails, but half of the building is a spa! That's right, you can lay back in a wooden chair, sip champagne and have your fingers polished, or indulge in a pedicure before retiring to the cafe section to read a book with a hot cup of coffee. The possibilities at HMP are endless, and I seriously doubt there is anywhere in the city better suited for a night out with your girlfriends.

I headed over to HMP after weeks of daydreaming about what it could be like, drawn in by the promise of sprinkle laced macarons and beauty products. I bundled up in a For Love & Lemons oversized grey cable knit sweater dress and a camel hat from Bicyclette, paired with loafers and black tights (tis the season right?) and a beautiful Loren Hope necklace. Of course as soon as I arrived, I never wanted to leave.

There was white marble everywhere, with perfect flashes of gold and copper worked into the decor amongst succulents and fashion coffee table books. At the back just past the bar there's a small beauty boutique that carries some of my favourite cosmetic brands, and through a passage at the back you'll find yourself inside the most beautiful spa you've ever seen. Even the bathrooms are perfectly adorned with vintage mirrors and pink sinks!

In short, this place is truly heaven, and next time you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and truly indulge, I suggest you pop in and treat yourself like a queen!
