Borrowed from the Boys
We've had a few unseasonably (and unwelcome!) chilly days this week, and though we're not ready to let summer go quite yet, we have to admit that we did welcome the opportunity to test out our layering skills once again. Over the past couple of weeks the shop has started to transform with lots of new pieces arriving, and though we aren't ready to pack away our summer dresses quite yet, we've received a lot of styles that make transitional dressing way more fun.
Yesterday we visited the stylish new French eatery Colette Grand Café for a quick lunch and planning session with Alyssa, and after indulging in a much needed Americano, some delicious quiche and the most exquisite pastry, we decided to take a few quick photos set against the stunning backdrop of the café patio. Because of yesterday's busy schedule and the chill in the air, I opted for a few of my favourite new basics whose style is very much borrowed from the boys, with a pastel twist. Free People has done it again with the most perfect dove grey sweater that truly does live up to it's name, the 'Boyfriend's Embrace Cardigan', which was a great layering piece over a simple pink blouse and the new Maison Scotch boyfriend denim we just received. Finished off with a statement necklace in a rainbow of pastel hues, my go-to grey fringe purse and pale pink flats, it was the perfect outfit for a day of meetings, errands and photo shoots.
