DIZZY DAZE + A POLKA DOT LOVE AFFAIR .

We're still swooning over our newest lookbook, shot by Scarlet O'Neill and full of pretty pastels, party dresses and bright, mis-matched prints. The past couple of days around here have been on the chillier side - not that we're complaining! - and though we find the colder temperatures tend to mean more practical pieces and less inspired outfits, we've made a promise to ourselves to not forget to have a little fun when styling ourselves in the mornings. And let's be honest, the opportunity to layer is something that needs to be taken advantage. We love adding a leather vest to a feminine dress, and it's the perfect item to transition your favourite little white dress into the fall season. Hats are another item that becomes a must have, and we're loving printed or bright toques to remedy both a bad hair day and the need for that something extra to finish an outfit off. We're bringing in a new line next month that includes styles with polka dots, bows, strips and perfectly slouchy basics, and we're thinking those will be on regular rotation in our styling department. Stay tuned!

Upon receiving the newest collection from Darling last week, our love affair with polka dots was renewed, especially after finding inspiration from street style shots taken during New York Fashion Week. We're now thinking the more dots the better, and are ready to jump into the black and white trend we've been flirting with for awhile now. The 'Fifi Dress' is the perfect way to add a touch of the trend to your LBD, and the styling options are endless - it would be an ideal piece to take you from a busy work day into the evening. The 'Charmer Blouse' has also become a fast favourite with its simple shape that pairs well with a flirty black skirt or distressed boyfriend denim and booties, and the frilled cuff sets it apart. And the houndstooth 'Karmen Skirt', with its classic pencil silhouette and the leather waistband is sure to become a wardrobe staple.
