SEPTEMBER LOOKBOOK . DIZZY DAZE
With no shortage of party dresses and cotton candy, we're so excited to unveil our September lookbook!
By the end of the first weekend we met Scarlet, on the set of '90 Days', we had already planned this lookbook together. We've always wanted to shoot a Bicyclette lookbook at the CNE, and since it's only in Toronto for two weeks, our timeline was set for us. Though the bright colours and lights of the carnival may not feel very traditionally "fall-like", as far as fashion and lookbooks go, it felt perfect to juxtapose with our fall collection, and - let's face it - our racks are always full of colour and prints, no matter what the season. When the CNE opens in mid-August, it always feels like an indicator that the end of summer is approaching, and it's a way to celebrate the change of seasons at such a quintessentially Toronto event.
So with that in mind, and with such an amazing backdrop to work with, we set to work styling outfits and planning a shoot that would capture the energy of the CNE the spirit of the Bicyclette Girl. It was all about party dresses, fun prints, and our usual feminine with an unexpected edge style, bringing it back to the concept that Bicyclette was built on, of 'street style meets fairy tale', which we think this lookbook embodies perfectly. This shoot was so much fun to work on because we allowed ourselves to go a little overboard with everything, and with Ashley doing hair and makeup, our vision came to life.
The lookbook includes a number of our favourite pieces from the most recent delivery of Finders Keepers, Cameo and Keepsake - Australian lines that have become fast favourite at the shop - as well as our go-to tulle skirt and printed bustier from Jordan de Ruiter, and our favourite Wildfox 'Teacup' sweater, which felt perfect for the carousel.
