Type Treatment — Script Fonts for Love Notes

Nothing adds a little romance to a design quite like a script font, and they can bring a quiet sense of nostalgia, a hint of whimsy or a more editorial kind of elegance, depending on the style.

There’s something about this time of year that always pulls me back toward the quieter gestures in design—the small choices that carry more feeling than function alone.

Nothing adds a little romance to a design quite like a script font. Used in moderation (this part matters!), they can bring a quiet sense of nostalgia, a hint of whimsy, or a more editorial kind of elegance—depending on the style.

I’ve always loved the way script fonts walk that fine line between intention and emotion. Too much, and they overwhelm. Used sparingly, though, they can soften a composition, introduce warmth, or add a sense of character that feels distinctly human.

With Valentine’s Day approaching—love it or hate it—I wanted to share a few of the script fonts I’ve been swooning over recently. Some feel personal and romantic, others lean nostalgic or archival, and a few feel more composed and editorial. Each brings its own tone to the page.

Perfect for writing love notes, in any form.
