Semi-Custom Brand Intro — Meet Clover

If you follow us on instagram, or poked around on our home page recently, you've likely already caught a peek at this not-so-top-secret project we've been up to, but I wanted to share a little more of the "why" behind the collection of semi-custom brands we've been working on, as well as the process — because honestly, I'm kind of making it up as I go, and I'm proud of that fact. I'm prototyping!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over the past couple of years, as I've worked hard to refine my own process and establish a signature style for the studio, one thing that often comes up for me is a frustration around not being able to work with businesses who are aligned with us in every way but aren't at a point where they're ready to invest in a fully custom package. And that's ok! But I still want you to be able to invest in and enjoy the Studio B experience.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The long and short of it — we're planning on launching a mini collection of four semi-custom brands. They keep getting pushed back, as internal projects so often do, but I've been pouring a lot into them, working through my usual process and taking all my experience and insight and pouring it into these brand suites that are intentionally and strategically pre-designed but still offer room for customization and the opportunity to work with us one-on-one, just in a different capacity.

The final details have been confirmed, the core designs are done, and they've passed the "I wish this was for my brand!" test, so I know I'm on the right track (it's a highly scientific test, promise). Now we’re just in the final stages of putting together the various pieces and getting them ready to launch.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Interested? Now would be the time to get on the waitlist to find out when they launch.

I wanted to share a little more behind the scenes of how these have been built, so I figured I would start with an intro to each brand suite, starting with Clover. This is where I start for each one, turning feelings into words, infusing them with meaning, finding images that brings to life these concepts, and then designing from there.

Meet Clover

Alluring and feminine, the beauty of Clover is captured by a balance of modern simplicity and free flowing silhouettes with a timeless appeal.

Feminine. Elegant. Sophisticated. Modern. Uncomplicated Luxury. Minimal. Delicate. Timeless. Refined. Intimate. Editorial.

A quiet Paris neighbourhood, in a beautiful, light-drenched, historic apartment.

Palette

Creamy ivories and warm neutrals are touched with hints of dusty rose and pale sage tones.

Styling

Taking inspiration from the intimate nature of the sample brand concept, a boutique lingerie line, Clover is sophisticated and modern, dressed in delicate, barely-there lace, cool silks that drape just so, and subtle, imperfect textures that evoke a vulnerable, easy elegance and give her that coveted je ne sais quoi.

Brand Moodboard

Take a peek at what’s inspiring our first semi-custom brand, Clover — the textures, tones, details and overall vibe. Consider this your insider peek at design of this almost-ready-to-launch brand suite, as I’ve included a few of the elements of the brand itself, from brand mark details, to type treatment and layout design. And, this is the first time we’re testing out this fun, interactive moodboard feature, so you can actually drag around the images below to play with creating your own configuration.
