Social Media Workshop

Here at Studio Bicyclette we're always dreaming up new creative projects and working closely with other lifestyle brands and boutique businesses to help them style their brand and tell their story through beautiful, strategic visual content.

Social media plays a big role in what we do on a daily basis both for our own business and also our clients — allowing us to build our online communities, share what we're up to and provide a visual platform for our brands. It's a way for us to connect, to offer a peek behind the scenes, and share our personal style and aesthetic, which in turn helps build a brand — all the while inspiring ourselves and others through the process of doing so.

After taking a bit of a workshop hiatus after running two sold out events, Alyssa of Random Acts of Pastel and I are excited to announce our next social media workshop on Sunday, Nov. 13 — a three hour seminar and workshop that helps small businesses and bloggers narrow in on their brand style and story. With updated content and information, new expertise and an extended time that includes hands-on styling stations (which I am so excited about!), the workshop is back and better than ever!

The Details

There will be a focus on branding, styling and storytelling for your brand, and we'll go over key social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, followed by a deep dive into our favourite platform of all — Instagram. We'll discuss how to create and optimize content (including sizing guidelines, etc.) for each platform,  the process of styling images and taking photos (including editing and captioning), our signature tools and tricks, and how we use social media to tell stories and build our lifestyle brands through photos.

For the first time, we'll also be handing out some worksheets and cheatsheets as well, so you'll have easy references for all your newfound knoweldge as well.

For the second half of the workshop, we'll be setting up flatlay photo stations with our signature colourful backdrops and a selection of fun props, and also providing guidance in styling outfit photos for the more interactive and hands on portion of the morning. We also invite questions and aim for a collaborative environment and lots of discussion, and we will both be available for one-on-one attention as well.

We can't imagine running a workshop without treats from our local favourites and epic gift bags, so you can bet on lots of fun suprises like Richer Poorer socks and Cake Beauty products along the way — all tucked into our favourite Ban.do totes, of course!
