Last week I had the opportunity to jet off to NYC for a hot minute (read: under 48 hrs) to attend the National Stationary Show with Alex. I'm always up for an adventure and have a hard time passing up any opportunity to travel, so it was the perfect excuse.
Read More01 // Last weekend a friend and I were flipping through inspiration boards and talking wedding details and dress designs. We're getting married within weeks of each other next summer, and so it's been fun to start going through the process together, though it still feels very far away. We ended up on the Dress Theory blog, and I immediately fell in love with this dreamy shoot and its stunning simplicity. Romantic and not-too-fussy, the dress itself is such a beauty, but it was the photography and beautiful light that had me swooning.

The soft, glowing light, the delicate pairing with layers of lace and tulle... so dreamy. There's always something so magical about behind the scenes photos, giving a peek into a world that we don't usually have access to, and this collection tells such a beautiful story.
Read More01 // This shot combines a few of my favourite styling elements: a desert location (on my list of dream shoots for awhile now), iridescent sequins, and the juxtaposition of an unexpected detail, in this case Converse paired with the showstopping dress.
Read More01 // I recently came across this Las Vegas wedding shoot again , and I couldn't help but take another peek at it. Its got such a badass, rock n' roll vibe, and you just know that the whole thing is very them. I'm always a sucker for a good sequin-and-converse combo, especially set against a desert backdrop like this one.

It's the perfect base, allowing you to play more with texture, shape and placement before you focus on the rest of the colour palette bring in the rest of the elements.

Read MoreToronto Fashion Week hit the city a couple of weeks ago, and to rep Bicyclette, we sent Abby to the tents this season and had her capture some of her favourite designers that we thought fit with the Bicyclette brand. Spring was always my favourite season to buy for when I had the boutique, and I share the same sentiment when it comes to the runway shows, whether we're pulling inspiration from the collections, or starting to think about our own styling projects for upcoming seasons.
Read More01 // This image has been on my inspiration board forever, as I love the type treatment and the mix between the serif and the handwritten font, and recently I've been playing around a similar idea for the new Bicyclette site.

The world of ballerinas never ceases to intrigue me, the beauty of the movements, the intricacy of the costumes, imagining a glimpse into their lives as ballerinas-off-duty.
Read More01 // I love design projects where a pre-existing brand is reimagined, and this Harper's Bazaar redesign caught my eye, with it's simple black and white type juxtaposed with dreamy, high fashion imagery. I would totally pick this up if I saw it on the newsstand, and I love that though it's a modern take on the magazine, it also has nods to minimalism design styles from the past.
Read MoreThere's a lot of inspiration to be found within the bridal industry, and I'm constantly turning to the pages of magazines and curated Pinterest boards to pick out my favourite pieces and gather styling ideas for future projects or just to keep at the back of my mind. And though I've seen many a wedding dress that I like for this reason or that, it's rare that I pay attention to the designer specifically, instead finding myself more drawn to the silhouette or a specific detail.
Read More01 // I don't think I've ever been as obsessed with shelving options as I have been over the past few weeks as we get ready for the move. We're going to give ourselves a little bit of time to settle in before making all of the decor decisions, and have a lot of items on our wishlist that we still need to hunt down, but one thing we've definitely settled on is a wall of picture ledges. I love the gallery wall effect that they have, while being a little less permanent and leaving lots of room to play around. And the black and white with pops of hot pink shown here? Pretty perfect in my books.
