Giggly Rose Cocktail

Besides the fact that this cocktail combines a few of my favourite ingredients, I must admit that it's really the name that I love the most: Giggly Rose Cocktail.  With both gin and champagne, it's not only a perfectly pretty cocktail that's fit to accompany any party dress, but also a slightly deadly one that'll be sure to get you in your dancing shoes and kissing that handsome stranger by midnight.

Disco Diamond New Year's Eve

New Year's has always been an interesting holiday for me. Though I usually tend to opt for a bottle of wine, cozy sweater and a night in over a big night out, it's always been one of my favourite occasions to style for, and every year with the boutique, I looked forward to party dresses and an over abundance of sparkle as we planned the holiday shoot.

Fall in Loversland

There's a certain romance about fall that can't be replicated, a feeling in the crisp autumn air and a whisper of magic in the changing colours of the leaves. It was that essence that Steph and I wanted to capture in our  creative shoot with Loversland as a followup to our Girl Crush feature, blurring the line between fashion and bridal, and carrying that from the studio to winding country roads.

A Simple Grid Inspiration Board for Your Workspace

In my last apartment, I was blessed with a section of wall that had cork board embedded in it upon moving in, so setting up my mandatory workspace inspiration board was about as easy as could be. When we moved to the new apartment a couple of months ago, that was one of the man features I knew I was going to miss (it's the little things, truly), and I started to keep my eyes out for alternatives that would fill that inspiration board need in the new workspace.

5 Podcasts for Creative Entrepreneurs and Bloggers

Earlier this year, I discovered podcasts. Sure, I was aware of them before, but I hadn't really come across any that spoke to me specifically or felt relevant to what I was doing and what my interests were, personally or professionally. I'm also a serial multi-tasker and tend to get lost in my own daydreams (or brilliant ideas, however you want to position it), so anytime I had tried giving them a listen, I found that I would inadvertently stop paying attention early on and failed to gain anything from the experience.

Rosemary Grapefruit Cocktail

I've been on the hunt for fall cocktail recipes for a few weeks now, searching for an option that would capture that quintessential autumn taste in a glass and pair with the beautiful copper bar set that I picked up at BYOB Cocktail Emporium recently. And though at first glance this Rosemary Grapefruit Cocktail may not appear to be your typical fall drink, there's something about the flavour profile that felt really appropriate. Maybe it's the fact that I'm really a summer girl at heart, or it could be because our weather has actually been quite mild for the season.

Toronto Fashion Week Through the Bicyclette Lens

Toronto Fashion Week hit the city a couple of weeks ago, and to rep Bicyclette, we sent Abby to the tents this season and had her capture some of her favourite designers that we thought fit with the Bicyclette brand. Spring was always my favourite season to buy for when I had the boutique, and I share the same sentiment when it comes to the runway shows, whether we're pulling inspiration from the collections, or starting to think about our own styling projects for upcoming seasons.

DIY Lace Crown

I'll admit it - Halloween doesn't hold quite the charm for me that it used to. Similarly to New Years Eve, I tend to get more excited about the prospect of dressing up and dreaming up new projects and shoots for the holiday than I do about actually going out and celebrating. But that being said, I've often found myself with a need for an on-the-fly costume at the last minute, so I'm a firm believer in always having a few options on hand, which is where this idea for a DIY lace crown came from.
