There's always so much talk abut which season is your favourite and why, with the consensus usually being that summer or fall takes the cake. And I agree. I love winter but only when I actually have the chance to enjoy it, which unfortunately isn't really the case when you live in downtown Toronto. And spring is just a little unpredictable for my taste, always with the promise of warmer days around the corner so you feel like you're constantly waiting for the temperature to climb just a little higher.

How to Create an Inspiration Board

I will never stop singing the praises of the good ol' fashioned inspiration board. Not only is it one of my favourite parts of starting a new project - whether it be a photoshoot, branding design, or a styled party - it's one of the first steps I take to bring a dream to life, and it's the stage where you start to see themes emerge, details take shape and your vision begin to materialize. And there is so much magic in that, especially when you're a bit of a dreamer and visually-oriented. It's one thing to have an idea, but to be able to actually bring that to life, to communicate it with others and watch it transform, that's pretty special, and it's one of my favourite things to do.

Imagine finding a companion that is your best friend, knows when you need that poetic morning text message (a heart emoji has replaced the love letter) and will forever be your travel partner. I heard the term soulmate referred to as a ‘travel partner’ and thought it was such an awesome substitute. We are all travelling our specific paths in life but then you can find someone that wants to travel with you, how beautiful is that.

01 // I love design projects where a pre-existing brand is reimagined, and this Harper's Bazaar redesign caught my eye, with it's simple black and white type juxtaposed with dreamy, high fashion imagery. I would totally pick this up if I saw it on the newsstand, and I love that though it's a modern take on the magazine, it also has nods to minimalism design styles from the past.

Bridal Inspiration // Rime Arodaky

There's a lot of inspiration to be found within the bridal industry, and I'm constantly turning to the pages of magazines and curated Pinterest boards to pick out my favourite pieces and gather styling ideas for future projects or just to keep at the back of my mind. And though I've seen many a wedding dress that I like for this reason or that, it's rare that I pay attention to the designer specifically, instead finding myself more drawn to the silhouette or a specific detail.

01 // I don't think I've ever been as obsessed with shelving options as I have been over the past few weeks as we get ready for the move. We're going to give ourselves a little bit of time to settle in before making all of the decor decisions, and have a lot of items on our wishlist that we still need to hunt down, but one thing we've definitely settled on is a wall of picture ledges. I love the gallery wall effect that they have, while being a little less permanent and leaving lots of room to play around. And the black and white with pops of hot pink shown here? Pretty perfect in my books.

01 // This summer has found me adding a few new syrup recipes to my repertoire, including vanilla and mint lime, and I see no reason to stop there. Rose vanilla sounds like it would be a perfect syrup to have on hand for lemonade, cocktails or desserts, and this table styling is just dreamy.
